Angie Russi Studio – Winter Newsletter 2025

Winter

Welcome to my Winter Newsletter!

As the trees stand bare and the chill of winter settles in, I find myself retreating into the warmth and light of my studio—my creative sanctuary. Winter is, without a doubt, the most magical season for working with clay. The cool air slows down the drying process, giving me all the time I need to shape and mold, and inspiring new ideas that flow like the season’s first snowflakes.

Autumn was a season full of creative energy, especially with our popular 2-Hour Introduction to the Potter’s Wheel workshop. First-time potters left with their own handmade pieces, amazed by what they could create in just two hours! Our Slow Day with Clay workshop also brought joy to many, as participants learned the art of basic clay construction in a fun, relaxed environment, leaving with both useful and whimsical pieces to remind them of the experience.

As we move into the winter months, I’m excited to announce a fresh line-up of workshops, running from July through September. With new themes and plenty of inspiration, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned potter or a complete beginner. All workshops are listed on my website, where you can easily book your spot and start planning your creative adventure.

And if you’re looking for a unique, personalized experience—perhaps for a group of friends or a special celebration—I’d be happy to tailor a workshop to suit your needs. Just get in touch, and let’s create something memorable together.

Plated 2025
A Collaborative Celebration of Food, Wine, and Ceramics

Plated 2025
A Collaborative Celebration of Food, Wine, and Ceramics

Plated 2024 marked the beginning of a special annual collaboration with Longleat Estate in Murchison—an inspired gathering that brought together a limited edition of handmade ceramic plates and a carefully curated five-course degustation lunch, paired with wines and enjoyed in the spirit of Slow Food.

Capped at just 80 guests and set in Longleat’s beautiful restaurant, overlooking the vines and framed by majestic River Red Gums, the 2024 event was truly memorable—and we’re thrilled to announce: we’re doing it again in 2025!

This year’s plates will feature an entirely new design, thoughtfully crafted to complement the unique flavours and presentation of the 2025 menu. Each plate is individually handmade, with no two exactly alike.

Your ticket includes one of these exclusive plates, and a limited number of additional pieces will be available for purchase on the day. After that, they’ll no longer be available—making them a rare and beautiful keepsake of the event.

Angie Russi Pottery Studio and Gallery

Open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday

10am – 3 pm

I’m always working in the studio whenever it’s open, and you’re warmly invited to take a stroll up the garden path to the showroom to see what’s new. Feel free to pop your head into the studio as well—I’m always happy to have a chat about what I’m working on and to share some insights into the ceramic processes behind the pieces.

I’m also excited to share that I’m working on a new dedicated workshop area, which I hope to have ready by Spring. Once complete, I’ll be launching a new program of weekly pottery classes! As many of you know, space in the current studio has been limited, so I’m really looking forward to welcoming more people into this new space—especially those wanting to explore or expand their ceramic skills.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my Winter offerings, and I look forward to seeing you in person sometime soon.
