Introduction to Making Ceramic Tiles
One-Day Decorative Tile Workshop

Discover the art of handmade ceramic tiles in this hands-on workshop designed for beginners and creatives alike. Whether you’re dreaming of a feature piece for your home or adding to a larger mosaic project, this is your chance to experiment with clay and create something truly unique. Learn how to form tiles in square, rectangular, or circular shapes, and explore a variety of decorative techniques to bring your ideas to life. Be bold with colour, line, shape, and texture—the only limit is your imagination!

Workshop Details:

• Time: 10:30am – 4:30pm (includes a lunch break

• Enjoy a relaxed day with plenty of time to create, decorate, and explore your design ideas

  What’s Included:

• Enough clay to make the equivalent of 6 large square tiles

• A range of clay colours for painting and decorating

• Access to tools for carving, incising, scraping, and painting

• Firing and glazing of all your finished tiles

What to Bring:

• A simple sketch or concept for your tile design

• An apron and a small hand towel

• Drinking water and lunch (or visit one of Rushworth’s lovely local cafés during the break)
