Description
Discover the creative possibilities of ceramic tile making in this hands-on workshop. You’ll learn how to create square, rectangular or round tiles that can become a unique feature in your home or form part of a mosaic project you’re working on.
Explore a range of decorating techniques to add interest and personality to your designs. This is your opportunity to be bold with colour, line, shape and texture — creativity is encouraged, and there are no limits.
The workshop runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm, with a lunch break included, giving you plenty of time to design and create your tiles.
What’s Included?
Enough clay to make the equivalent of six large square tiles
A selection of colours to paint and decorate your designs
Use of tools for carving, incising, scraping and painting
Firing and glazing of your finished tiles.
What to Bring
A simple sketch or idea for the image or design you’d like to create
An apron and a small hand towel
Drinking water and lunch, or enjoy the range of food and drinks available at Rushworth’s local cafés
