Join Angie Russi for a relaxed and supportive pottery class series designed to help you learn at your own pace. Whether you are new to clay or looking to refine your skills, these classes offer personalised guidance in a welcoming studio environment. With over 45 years of experience working with clay and a Bachelor of Fine Art majoring in Ceramics, Angie brings extensive knowledge in wheel-throwing, handbuilding, and sculptural techniques. Teaching is tailored to each participant, allowing beginners and more experienced makers alike to develop their skills confidently and comfortably.
What you will learn:
Wheel-throwing techniques, starting with basic cylinders and progressing to more advanced forms, including turning bases for a clean, professional finish
Handbuilding methods such as coiling, slab construction, slumping, pinching, and sculpting
Decorating techniques to explore and discover your own style, including carving, painting, sgraffito, and more
Glazing and firing processes, with practical instruction to help you achieve the best possible results for your work
What’s included:
Four weekly classes, each running 2pm – 5pm, giving you time to build a solid foundation in pottery
One bag of stoneware clay (additional clay available for purchase if required)
Access to pottery wheels
Basic pottery tool kit
All decorating and glazing materials
Firing of all work created during the classes
Total cost: $300 per person for the 4-week series
