Exhibition Opening 15 July

It’s cold and wet outside as we may expect for mid-Winter, however, my temperature has been well and truly up, spending long days in the studio preparing works for an exhibition with my colleague Eric Brown.

For me, returning to the studio full-time in 2021 has been a deeply transformative experience, akin to releasing a caged bird into the open sky. The sheer liberation I have felt cannot be put into words. For the past two decades, countless ideas have danced within the pages of my sketchbooks, patiently awaiting their moment to come to life. Finally, the opportunity to explore these ideas and work towards bringing them into tangible existence arrived, and I have wholeheartedly embraced the solitude of the studio and the sometimes, manic processes of experimentation, creation, and the ups and downs of successes, and failures that are all part of the terrain of this space. The process of bridging the gap between concept and creation has been both exhilarating and humbling while working with the practical aspects of manifesting ideas into physical form – A fine balance of imposing an idea on a living body of clay and at the same time maintaining a deep respect for the material and its limitations is challenging.

I am excited as I prepare to unveil the fruits of my creative exploration over the last 8 months and invite you to join Eric and me for an afternoon celebratory opening at the Foundry Art Space in Echuca on the 15 July at 2 pm.If you can’t make it to the opening, Eric and I will be at the Gallery quite often until the 12 August and would love to show you around the show.

Clay Workshops

Body Pots Workshop – Laughing with Clay

This workshop is for Adults and is a light-hearted experimental group workshop resulting in a number of uniquely shaped pots/sculptures to be glazed and fired. In the middle of Winter life can get a bit dreary so let’s lighten things up with some fun.

The group will be limited to 6 people so we have enough room to play and the workshop fee covers all materials, firing, and tuition. There will be a lunch break – please supply your own lunch or head off to one of the coffee shops in Rushworth.

Saturday 22 July 11.30 am to 3.00 pm Please book via the link below

– Feet of Clay Workshop –

For Children 6 and over and an accompanying Parent

Learn how to make your own favorite animal and make the legs stay on!

Due to my small studio space, participants need to book a time during the day so that you will have space to work and my undivided attention for 1 hour. The cost of the workshop includes clay, colorants, tuition, firing and mailing your finished masterpiece to you.

Saturday 29 July & Sunday 30 July 10am to 4pm

EACH WORKSHOP SESSION DURATION IS 1 hour and must be booked through this link – https://angierussi.com.au/product/feet-of-clay-workshop-for-children-6-and-over-and-an-accompanying-parent/

I continue to open my studio showroom in Rushworth 3 days a week – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm and love to have a chat with you and show you the latest offerings. I will have more time soon to create some new and interesting pieces indoors and in the garden.

Thank you all for your ongoing support
